Mobile-specific features

Claude's mobile-specific features are the capabilities available exclusively or primarily through the official Claude iOS and Android apps that go beyond what the web interface offers. These include native device integrations (messaging, email, calendar, reminders, maps, and clock apps), voice mode for hands-free interaction, camera and photo input, widget and Lock Screen controls, and health data analysis via Apple HealthKit or Android Health Connect. The apps are free to download and work across all subscription plans, though certain advanced features — particularly health data analysis and some integrations — are restricted to specific plans, platforms, or regions. On iOS, Claude integrates deeply with the Shortcuts app and system Share sheet, allowing users to trigger Claude actions from anywhere on the device. On Android, Claude uses native system intents to interact with default OS apps without requiring the user to switch between applications. Both platforms support voice dictation to populate the chat input, and a full voice mode (currently in beta) is available across all plans. Health data features allow Pro and Max users in the United States to ask Claude questions about their activity, workouts, sleep, and heart rate, with Claude generating native in-chat charts from HealthKit or Health Connect data. Location-based features are available on individual plans but are disabled for Team and Enterprise users. Reminders integration is currently iOS-only. These mobile capabilities are designed to make Claude a practical, context-aware assistant that works with your real environment and daily routines rather than requiring you to sit at a desktop.

When you’d use it

  • On-the-go image analysisA user photographs a product label, a foreign-language sign, or a complex diagram while traveling and wants an immediate explanation or translation without switching apps or sitting at a desk.
  • Hands-free voice drafting during commuteA commuter activates voice mode and dictates a rough idea for an email or meeting agenda. Claude turns the spoken words into a polished draft, which the user can review and send directly from the app.
  • Calendar and scheduling from mobileA user asks Claude to schedule a recurring weekly meeting with specific colleagues, check for conflicts, and add it to their default calendar app — all without opening the Calendar app manually.
  • Health and fitness trend analysisA Pro plan user in the US asks Claude to compare their sleep duration and resting heart rate over the past 30 days using data from HealthKit or Health Connect, and Claude generates in-chat charts summarizing the trends.
  • Location-aware recommendationsA user on a personal plan (Free, Pro, or Max) asks Claude for restaurants or pharmacies nearby while traveling; Claude accesses device location and returns contextual suggestions, optionally opening Maps with directions.
